Its replacement, Scott's new Centric, is the product of 18 months of development and is built on all new tapers, a bevy of new technologies and new components. Radian, to Scott loyalists delight, reintroduced their seminal aesthetic and were a huge hit with now Centric poised to advance forward. Does not sanding, semi sanding or full sanding impact a blank's weight or performance, I honestly do not have an opinion as I fish rods I love in the full variation of finish. Scott Centric rods are fit with Flor grade cork, new titanium stripping guides with super slick zirconia inserts, new low glare Snakebrand Universal snake guides, and a new fully milled reel seat featuring speed threads, easy-grip knurling, self-indexing hoods, micarta inserts, a special Delrin lock washer, and type 3 flat black hard coat. Matching a rod up with the correct line is extremely important in evaluating a rod. Most line manufactures now make both true line weight lines and “line and a half” line weight lines. For this review we used the new Orvis Pro lines in both a 6 weight “trout taper” and “power taper”.
